Return of the Mod Peacock

129twigandvine peacock rug, art and photography © Sue Schlabach

Happy summer evening to you all.

The Mod Peacock art I designed for Wild Apple has just appeared on this indoor/outdoor rug by JellyBeans, a division of Home Fires. It is cheering up the porch—desperately in need of paint.

I am loath to wipe my feet on this beauty after a spell in the garden or the chicken yard, but it’s supposed to be washable. {So maybe a few wipes of the feet won’t do much harm.} Back in the spring I posted the pillows that sport the same design.

Homefires has made wool hooked rugs with my artwork Ikat Bloom and Grand Vins. And another company has licensed the Mod Peacock art for tabletop products. No samples yet to show…

This is such beautiful work. I have a strange attachment to peacocks, I suppose because there’s a bit of magic and majesty that comes with them. Beautiful work!

I feel the same way. Two years ago a pea hen showed up and stayed here for several weeks. It was magical (except for the honking at 4:30 a.m.). We found a home for her at a local farm where they have two more peacocks and we still visit her.

So gorgeous! I would want to frame it, not wipe my feet on it!

Hmmmm, hadn’t thought of THAT! Would be a good way to keep it clean around here 🙂

when I look at that peacock, it makes me laugh! Looks as if he sneezed and all his feathers went flying. So delightful!

That just takes the cake!!! Very funny. I’ll have to get the peacock some tissues…

Those cheerful designs made my morning very happy, but what made me happier was reading about what an exciting time this must be for you! It must be so wonderful to see other people so enthusiastic about your work.

Beautiful design! I wouldn’t want to wipe my feet on it, either. Maybe a bathroom rug instead? For clean feet!

Well that’s just brilliant! Sadly it’s already had a few feet wipeages that have left their mark. But it’s supposedly washable, so I may give it a wash and relegate it to the bathroom where it should look great on the wood floor by the red tub. Thanks for the great idea (and the kind comment).
